Bus Services

Brisbane Transport operate bus services under contract to the TransLink Transit Authority, the QLD state government department for public transport in South East Queensland.

Bus services stretch from the Brisbane City to nearly all areas of the Brisbane City Council, including some services extending into local shires surrounding Brisbane.

Timetables for bus services are available online on the TransLink website, or from any Brisbane City Council Customer Service Centres, Brisbane City Council Libraries and from the Transport Information kiosks situated in Queen St in the City and above the King George Square Bus Station on Ann/Roma St City.

Service Types

Each route has its own unique route number, and can either travel inbound & outbound, cross country (by passing the City) or be a community service loop which travels in one direction only. The following is a list what the services mean:

City Sights

Brisbane Transport also operate a 'City Sights' tour service. This fully commented tour takes in the sights of the City, Mt Coot-tha, South Bank, Kangaroo Point & the Fortitude Valley.

Tours operate daily (except Christmas Day, Good Friday & Anzac Day) from approximately 9am to 4pm. For more information, visit the City Sights website

Great Circle Line

Want to visit all the larger shopping centres around Brisbane without going into the City? Then why not catch a 598 or 599 service!

This service operates Monday to Saturday, and it will take you to Chermside, Brookside, Toowong, Indooroopilly, Garden City, Carindale & Cannon Hill shopping Centres - and what more, its all for the same cost as travelling between 2 zones!

Special Events

Find it hard parking your vehicle when going to Suncorp or Gabba stadiums? Well why not catch a free shuttle bus!

Shuttle buses operate to both the Suncorp Stadium & The Gabba Stadium on game days, two hours prior to the game starting, and conveys passengers from the stadium up to an hour after the game has finished. Shuttle services operate from Eight Mile Plains, Carindale, Chermside & the City for both stadiums, with shuttle services also from The Gap for Suncorp Stadium events also!
