Photography
Whilst it is not illegal to take photos of public transport, there are some points of interest that should noted for when taking photos.
- Never put yourself into a position where you could cause an interference with the normal operation of public transport or other pedestrian passageways.
- If there are fences, barricades or signs stating pedestrian access, ensure you stay behind within those areas to protect your own safety.
- Do not take pictures on the Busway network without prior approval from Busways first.
- Do not use flash photography at night where possible, especially inside buses whilst the bus is moving or on the deck of the CityCats, and if on the side of the road with the camera directed at the bus. This practice is very unsafe and causes the driver to lose concentration.
- If taking pictures are bus interchanges or terminuses, just ask the driver first if it is ok if you take pictures of his/her bus, as some drivers do not want their picture taken in close range.
